35th Reunion Site Update Complete

I have worked on our class site most of the afternoon & evening today, and I think I have just about everything updated for the 35th Reunion in August.  All of the information pages are relatively complete, and will be updated as things change.

You can find information about all the 35th Reunion Events and updated attendance lists on this website.  The attendance lists will be updated regularly once reservation forms start coming in to me….

Shortly, I will look into online registration and payment options, so you can register and pay via PayPal, but I have to do a little research on how to do that from this newer website….

35th Reunion Approaching Fast….

Today, you should receive an email about the plans for our 35th Reunion. The reunion committee is working on finalizing the plans for our reunion weekend over the next few days, and at that time, I will update this website with all the information about our upcoming 35th Reunion.

For now, the plans are:

Friday, August 1st:

7pm: Ice Breaker Event at The Sunset Grill in Sylvan Beach

Saturday, August 2nd:

11am-3pm: Family Style Picnic at Forest Park & Tours of the High School & Middle School
6pm-11pm: Dinner Banquet at Delta Lake Inn, at Delta Dam, north of Rome.

We are looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion!  Look for your information & reservation package in the mail soon!

Annual Alumni Event 2013 (34th Reunion)

Well, 2012 is fast coming to a close, and I will have to admit to being a bit lax on getting together with the Class Reunion Planning Committee to set a date for our 2013 Annual Event.

Therefore, I am making an executive decision that we maintain the same schedule as we have used in the past, and stick with the second Saturday of August for our annual reunion gathering.  For 2013, this will be August 10th.  We will also keep with the same location, Don VanDresar’s “Sunset Grill” in Sylvan Beach, as it has worked out well for the previous years.

Look for more detailed information in the spring as the planning committee gets together to finalize the plans and costs for our annual event.

News of Interest for Our Class….

Two different sad items have come to my attention regarding members of our class in the past week.  I figured I would share them both with you all through this forum:

Last week, Lorie & Paul Russo (Lorie George) suffered a devastating house fire in Camden last weekend.  I have not found any details published in the Rome Sentinel, and have not yet seen the Queen Central News for information, but from what I have heard through second hand sources, the house was a total loss.

The second item is the passing of one of our classmates: Regina VandenBosch, in Rochester on Monday, October 15th.  Her online obituary can be found here:

This brings the total number of classmates we have confirmed to have passed to 8.  May we all remember and pray for those we have lost over the years….

Next Planning Meeting for the 33rd Reunion Event…

I have set the date for the next (probably final) planning meeting for the “Terrific Three’s” 33rd Reunion Event this August 11th.

The planning meeting will be on Thursday, July 19th starting about 6pm on the deck at The Sunset Grill in Sylvan Beach (inside if raining).  The meeting should not take more than an hour, plus some time for some munchies/food from the kitchen at The Sunset Grill.

The meeting is open to any class member who would like to attend.

Welcome to the New Camden Class of 1979’s Website

After completing the total redesign of the “Camden Alumni Association” website (www.camdenalumni.com), I decided a complete redesign of our class website was also overdue.  This new site will allow commenting by users, and upon request, I will allow other Class of 1979 Alumni to have authoring status so they can originate posts on this site as well.
